2009 Membership Campaign

To all current and future AHI members,

Some of our accomplishments in 2008:

  • Establishing a Quality Improvement Research track at the National Forum for the Institute for Healthcare Improvement
  • Publishing the oral presentations at our Scientific Symposium in the journal, Quality and Safety in Health Care
  • Creating the Duncan Neuhauser Curricular Innovation Award
  • Submitting a joint application as a partner for the RWJF Quality Improvement Resource Center

Our ambitions for 2009:

  • Awarding a prize for the Curricular Innovation Award
  • Building a virtual research network
  • Increasing the involvement and participation of the AHI members
  • Linking with associate organizations such as Academy Health
  • Turning our web site into a dynamic network, buzzing with member activity

However, these goals depend on growing a stronger AHI by building a larger membership base.

Membership Campaign

In the past year, we have grown from 39 to 146 members and from 3 to 8 institutional members. We want to accelerate this growth. The AHI's goal is to reach a membership count of 1,000 individuals. To do this, we need your help.

AHI Membership Growth

What can you do to help?

To substantially increase membership from 146 to 1,000 members you can:

  • Recruit 5 colleagues, friends or co-workers
  • Print out AHI Membership Form (PDF) and tell them to visit our website: a4hi.org
  • Remind them, fees are inexpensive ($35) and AHI is a non-profit 501c3 organization. Membership fees are tax-deductable

Why join?

AHI offers a year-round professional home for educators, clinicians, investigators, administrators, policy makers, and students interested in:

  • The science and implementation of continuous improvement in healthcare and health professions education
  • A scholarly community in which professionals and investigators can introduce work for peer review and discussion
  • A network for discussion of the concepts, methods and applications of research and education in healthcare improvement
  • Career and leadership pathways for professionals in healthcare improvement
  • Creating a research and education agenda for healthcare improvement

We want to solidify quality improvement as a field and as a career. We want AHI to be a self-organizing, dynamic network of people who share the common mission of improving health and healthcare. The more people involved, the greater our energy and the larger our reach, scope, and potential.

Become an active part in the Academy for Healthcare Improvement by helping us grow.
